چکیده
Abstract We have studied reflection spectra of dye-doped and undoped polymers deposited onto Ag Au substrates found anomalous dips in the UV spectral range. On top substrates, ? ? 375 nm were observed PMMA, PVP, PS as well PMMA doped with Rh590 HITC laser dyes. In silver-based samples, positions close to singularities refractive indexes surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) propagating at interface between polymer. The latter can tentatively explain dips, if scattering polymeric films is large enough launch SPP without any prism or grating. Rh590:PMMA HITC:PMMA on Au, more pronounced than those Ag, broader, shifted shorter wavelengths, their had standard deviations. Furthermore, no gold-based samples polymers, a modest singularity index, predicted theoretically 500 nm, cannot experimentally. It appears likely that origin different from substrates.

A review of the surface plasmon resonance (SPR) transducers based on tapered fibers that have been developed in the last years is presented. The devices have proved their good performance (specifically, in terms of sensitivity) and their versatility and they are a very good option to be considered as basis for any kind of chemical and biological sensor. The technology has now reached its maturi...
متن کاملOptical Chirality Enhancement in Twisted Arrays of Plasmonic Nano-rods
An important property of electromagnetic fields, which arises from the interaction between fields and chiral molecules, is called optical chirality. By enhancing this field property, while maintaining constant input power, we are able to increase absorption of circularly polarized light by chiral molecules of a certain handedness. This enhancement is achieved through the use of achiral plasmoni...

The combination of interferometry and plasmonic structure, which consists of gold nanoparticle layer, sputter coated silicon oxide spacer layer, and aluminum mirror layer, was studied in transmission mode for biosensing and refractive index sensing applications. Because of the interferometric nature of the system, the information of the reflection amplitude and phase of the plasmonic layer can ...
متن کاملImpacts of Nanoparticles and Nano Rod Arrays on Optical Generation Rate in Plasmonic-Based Solar Cells
In this article, the effect of plasmonics properties of metal nanorods and nanoparticles on solar cell performance were investigated and simulated. Due to the classic solar cell disadvantages, it seems that a plasmonic solar cell is one of these methods. In plasmonic solar cells, because of plasmonic effect, a high electric field builds around metal nanoparticles so that high conversion efficie...
متن کاملElectronic Properties of Random Polymers: Modelling Optical Spectra of Melanins
Melanins are a group of complex pigments of biological origin, widely spread in all species from fungi to man. Among diverse types of melanins, the human melanins, eumelanins, are brown or black nitrogen-containing pigments, mostly known for their photoprotective properties in human skin. We have undertaken theoretical studies aimed to understand absorption spectra of eumelanins and their chemi...
